Six Nations Winter Series Team Event - 18th January to the 8th March 2025
Our inaugural Six Nations team series proved to be very popular in 2024 and we are pleased to announce we are running with the same format for 2025.
Competition details as follows:
6 teams will be created using the countries competing in the Six Nations rugby tournament. A series of round robin fixtures, 5 in total, will take place each weekend. After round 5 is completed the team who finishes top after the 5 rounds will automatically qualify for the final. The teams finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th will play off in a semi final match on the weekend of the 1st March. The two teams here who return the highest stableford points total from the best *3 cards from the team will be deemed the winners and will qualify for the final.
First round to take place on weekend of 18th and 19th January with the final scheduled for Saturday 8th March. Full fixture list is available separately in this section of the app.
Teams will be ratified on the weekend of the 11th and 12th January where a seeding system from the winter singles league will be drafted and players drawn from each seeding pot and allocated to a team.
Depending on the number of players per team the best *3 cards per team will be totaled and compared to the best *3 cards of the team in opposition. The team with the highest total of stableford points will be declared the match winner and will be awarded 3 points for the league table. There will be 2 points for a draw and 1 point for a losing bonus point if a team is beaten by 6 or less points.
The number of cards to apply towards team totals will be determined once the final playing pool is determined. Closing date for entries is Friday 10th January. A payment link has been added to the activities page of your member hub.
Matches will be played on a Saturday and a Sunday. Players can play either Saturday or Sunday or both days. If you play both days only one of your scores can count towards the team total.
Where teams finish level on points in the league table, the standing in the table will be determined by the head to head result between the two teams. Where 3 or more teams are tied or the head to head match was a draw (or yet to take place) the standings will be determined based on most stableford points scored in each match. If that's a tie, the team who achieved the highest stableford total (from their 3 best cards) in any match will be awarded the higher ranking in the table. If that is a tie the team who has the highest individual stableford score from any match will be deemed the higher ranking team. If that ties it will move to the second best card and so forth until a better individual score has been determined.
The weekend of the 15th February has been left free to host any fixtures that may have been postponed. Sunday 16th March is a contingency plan to host the final if the weather interrupts the schedule.
Committees decision is final in all matters.
